FAQs

What makes your cleaning services green?

At Come Clean! we are passionate about helping our clients live healthier, happier lives, so all of the products we use are safe for people, pets and the planet.

For example, one of our favorite brands is Bio Green Clean. It cleans everything from kitchens, to windows, to bathrooms, to baby toys – truly taking care of grease, grime, and germs! It is made up of 100% pure ingredients, including amino acids, minerals, leafy green vegetables, edible seeds, and seed-bearing plants. NO chemicals, phosphates, bleach, or perfumes.

Our towels are reusable for thousands of washes, we find the greenest-made brushes available and even the bag we use to carry our supplies in is made of recycled bottles and tires. We try to be green in all areas of our business, not just with the cleaning supplies we use!

How long do house cleanings usually take?

During our very first cleaning, we like to work for at least double the hours a regular cleaning would take, which gives us time to get to know your home's needs and give everything a thorough cleaning. For subsequent cleanings we will work with you to come up with the best schedule for your home and lifestyle!. Every home is unique, but our most common cleaning time ranges from 3-5 hours.

The following list will give you a general idea of how long different areas commonly take to clean:

Dusting - 30mins
Floors - 30-90mins
Master Bathroom - 45-60mins
Standard/Half Bathroom - 15-20mins
Kitchen - 45-60mins

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU NEED LESS TIME OR GO OVER-TIME?

We can always find more to clean and we'll clean for at least the amount of time that we have agreed upon. If we go over a little, it’s on us. If we go over time by 30 mins or more on a consistent basis we will let you know and you can decide if you would like to add more time or rethink what we are focusing on.

HOW OFTEN CAN YOU CLEAN?

We can come every week, bi-weekly or once every 4 weeks - whatever works best for you and your home. It’s best to schedule a standing appointment so we can be sure we have your time slot available, and so we are able to keep your home sparkling. (Our goal is to always leave a house cleaner than we did the time before so it continually becomes cleaner, but this is only possible if we visit regularly.)

We can also do small household chores like changing light bulbs, flipping a mattress, tightening a loose knob or door handle, moving a piece of furniture, moving and cleaning under fridge/stove/ washer/dryer, etc. "Light" handy man things.

Do I need to do anything to prepare for a cleaning?

You don't need to do anything special to prepare and we bring all of our own eco-friendly supplies, so the only thing you need to provide is a home in need of cleaning! Many clients put away clutter that has accumulated since their last appointment so we can get straight to cleaning the surfaces underneath, but we are happy to straighten up if you'd prefer. (To ensure your privacy and to respect your home and personal space, we won’t open any drawers or cabinets unless specifically asked.)

We will always touch base with you before your cleaning to find out if you have special requests or areas you'd like us to focus on.

Can I be home while you're cleaning? What about my pets?

You are welcome to be home while we are cleaning, or be out of the house - whatever works best for you! We have clients who do both. When it comes to pets, we don’t mind them at all, in fact we like them! If they are friendly, we’ll hit it off right away, although cats usually avoid us at all costs once they figure out we are the ones who always bring the vacuum!

How much do you charge, and how do I pay?

Our services are $45/hour per cleaner, and we accept cash, check or credit card. Looking to save money? Ask about our first time cleaning and referral specials!

Are you licensed, bonded and insured?

Absolutely! Come Clean! LLC is fully licensed, bonded and insured, and all of our team members receive thorough training to ensure that your home is cleaned and cared for as carefully as if it were our own.

How do I schedule an appointment?

To schedule your cleaning, please use the contact form here on the website, email us at info@comecleanseattle.com, or call 206.375.6045. After your initial cleaning, we can set up regular weekly, biweekly or monthly scheduled appointments to keep your home sparkling clean.

If for any reason you need to reschedule your appointment we'll be happy to accommodate you - we ask for notice within 24 hours of your original appointment time to avoid a $90 cancellation fee.

DIY Green Cleaning Tips

Freshen and Clean Your Drains

For a slow moving drain in your bathtub, or a not-so-fresh smelling drain in your kitchen sink, the powerful combination of vinegar and baking soda will do the trick!

1. Pour a pot of boiling hot water down your drain. 

2. Dump in about 1/2 c. baking soda. Let that sit for a few minutes.

3. Then, pour a mixture of 1 c. vinegar and 1. c very hot water down on top of the baking soda.

4. Cover with a drain plug if you have one (to keep the reaction down below the drain surface) and let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

5. Flush one more time with a pot of boiling water.

MAKE YOUR OWN
NATURAL ROOM SPRAY

Home made room sprays will freshen your home while saving you tons of money and placing only natural ingredients (no chemicals!) into your air. These are great for bedrooms and bathrooms and will replace products like aerosol air sprays or Febreeze. 

1. In a clean spray bottle, add 3 parts water to 1 part vodka.

2. Add 10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil (or a combination of two or three). 

3. Spray into the air and enjoy!

Clean Your Microfiber Furniture

Couches and chairs are the pieces of furniture that often get the most use - if your microfiber furniture has stains that need cleaning, try this:
 
1. Fill a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol. 

2. Spray the stained area of the microfiber furniture with the rubbing alcohol.

3. Rub the sprayed areas with a white or natural sponge.

4. Give it space and let it dry.

5. Brush with a clean scrub brush to bring the pile back!
